Wheelwise, a Port Aurel startup whose six-wheeled robots deliver groceries on the pavement, has raised £6 million to expand across the south of the city.

The robots already run in Riverside and Southmoor, where they make about 900 deliveries a day. They travel at walking pace and are watched remotely by staff who can take over if needed.

The company will use the money to build 200 more robots and hire 35 people. Its founders say disabled and older customers are among their most frequent users.
