Aiden Park, 14, from Port Aurel has become the youngest national chess champion in the tournament’s history.

He won his final game in 61 moves after being behind for most of it, turning the position around with a knight sacrifice that his opponent later called "brave and correct".

Aiden learned to play at his school chess club, which now has more than 60 members. He will represent the country at the junior world championship next year.
